From 1986 to now
What started as a photographic curiosity in 1986 developed into a love affair 20 years on in 2006, when Denise left her bespoke web design role at Barlcays bank and created imageXperience with her husband, Michael. In the latter stages of those 20 years, Denise was commissioned by Air Harrods to photograph helicopters in flight; then for Harrods Online, with a colleague, setup an in-house photography studio photographing products for their website.
Fast forward to 2018, in pursuit of excellence, Denise has inspired her photography career as a visual artist by studying BA Photography (Hons) at University of Westminster and graduating with First Class Honours. This has introduced another dimension to her craft, reinvigorating the sense of pride and fulfilment she experiences in image making as an art.
A personal brand
imageXperience is a personal brand and it’s all about connecting with established and aspiring professionals in their chosen field to capture and make engaging portraits that supports them in conveying their message and who they are.
I love making photographs of people. I say 'making' rather than 'taking' because, to me, the photograph is not complete until it is made into something tangible - a print - beyond the ephemeral screen image that takes the image back from view when the screen power is gone.
The photograph is complete when it is printed and viewed, where it can be a form of mirror for the viewer to interact and identify with.
That's what you want, right? A photograph that represents who you are and with a memorable impression.
Credentials
In addition to achieving several awards and accolades in photography, including MPA Licentiate Photographer of the Year 2007 and achieving Profoto Image Maker status, in 2019 Denise qualified as an Apple Certified Pro in Apple Final Cut Pro X, an industry standard video editing software.
In her personal practice, Denise strives to master working with light, exhibiting a meticulous attention to detail. The results benefit her professional practice.
Large format archival printing
We have been giclée printing photographs using Epson large format printers since 2006 and Denise has completed training with Epson. This printing method is widely regarded as archival large format printing.
This year, imageXperience upgraded it’s large format printer to the new 44″ Epson SC-P9500, delivering smooth gradations and accurate texture reproduction. The combination of Ilford photographic, and Hahnemühle, Canson-Infinity and Moab fine art papers, deliver jaw-dropping photographic prints that command attention and respect. Your photographs are printed onsite by the artist and photographer who captured the image, giving you a consistent end to end service.
Our oldest printer has now become our newest printer. How? We converted our 44″ Epson SP-9900 to a specialist K9 black and white Piezography printer, delivering exceptional black and white prints with superb tonality and archival longevity.
Virtual drum scanning and flatbed scanning
Using the legendary Hasselblad 646 Flextight virtual drum scanner and Epson Perfection V850 Pro flat bed scanner, your film and A4 photographs are digitised at high resolution.
Location
With the current COVID health situation, Denise works mostly from home, visiting the imageXperience boutique studio for fine art printing, video chat consultations, and in-person photography sessions by appointment.
The imageXperience boutique studio is located within a gated private road near Lloyd Park Tram stop in Croydon, South East London. Parking can be organised upon request.
